There has been a lot of rumors and speculations surrounding the Verizon iPhone in the past few weeks. Now folks at MacDailyNewshave published some more interesting details supporting the rumor.

Yesterday we posted info about a listing found on the Apple Jobs portal, with a position for “Cellular Systems Perf Engineer” who is familiar with technologies like CDMA in addition to GSM, GPSRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA and HSUPA. The job posting itself has been removed since then, the experience requirements has raised an important point about the potential new cellular technologies that could be supported on Apple iPhone in future.

It should also be noted that recruitment of CDMA engineers do not necessarily imply that a CDMA iPhone could be coming to the American market. Several countries, including China and India, have a growing telecom market with a number of large CDMA carriers. It is likely that Apple may be working on a CDMA variant of the iPhone to target these markets.

According to the MacDailyNews, the Verizon iPhone is “100% cooked for quite a while” and the device is expected to launch “right after Christmas“. Verizon is learned to have already begun stocking their warehouses with the new units that could be made available soon after the official announcement is made.

If a post-Christmas launch sounds a little odd given that it is the end of the shopping season, we hear that this is because of an agreement between Apple and AT&T to let the carrier maximize its shopping season sales before losing exclusivity.

The report also carries a number of other interesting speculations. MacDailyNews writes that the Verizon iPhone could be LTE-supported and that this could be the main marketing message on the Verizon commercials. The device is also expected to be equipped with a multi-band chip for backward compatibility with regular CDMA.

The website also gives us some interesting details about iPhone 5. The source claims that this next generation iPhone was initially supposed to be released as an LTE-only model. However, this plan has been scrapped because of insufficient LTE coverage.
