After playing Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back, Billy Dee Williams had a lot of explaining to do when he got rushed on his daughter’s playground. “Kids would run up to me and say, ‘You betrayed Han Solo!’”

“He didn’t really betray Han Solo,” Williams says. “He was trying to prevent the complete demise of Han Solo and his friends. Lando did stand up to Darth Vader for about two seconds and realized it could be a huge mistake.”

Williams reprised the role of Lando Calrissian in George Lucas’ Return of the Jedi and voiced the character more recently in the 2010 TV animation Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III.
