A dance and music video project to accompany mashup artist Girl Talk’s 2010 album All Day is complete, has a trailer and will be premiered in New York at the start of December.

Wired U.K.

Girl Walk // All Day spans the entire length of the album, lasting a full 71 minutes, and tells the story of a ballet dancer who has a bit of a breakdown, moves to New York City, meets a man and is chased all over town by a sinister blond creep in a skeleton hoodie. As you can see in the trailer video embedded in this story, slowly, surely, she inspires the entire city to dance. It’s the creation of filmmaker Jacob Krupnick, who raised the funds to make it on Kickstarter.

The film will be premiered in full at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, New York on Dec. 8. Tickets are free, but you need to RSVP right here if you want to go. There are no seats, though — you’ll be watching it from the dance floor.

If you can’t make it to Brooklyn, though, don’t worry — more screenings are planned (request one near you), and you’ll be able to watch the entire thing online, too. Right now, only the first chunk is on the web, but more will be released over the course of December and early January. See the individual chapters right here.

In case you’re wondering, this probably doesn’t qualify as the longest music video ever. While it’s longer than the longest video for an individual song (Michael Jackson’s 39-minute video for Ghosts takes that prize), this is more of a video for an album so it’s more directly comparable with the likes of The Who’s Tommy and Quadrophenia, Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Daft Punk’s Interstella 5555 and even stage musicals.
