The folks over at Engadget have gotten their hands on what appears to be the real PlayStation Phone, which is something many people have been waiting for. The images leaked are of the long rumored PlayStation Phone by Sony Ericsson, which is expected to hit retail shelves somewhere between the end of 2010 and early 2011.The PlayStation Phone will be powered by the upcoming Android 3.0 Gingerbread OS with a custom marketplace from Sony, where you will be able to purchase games. This device sports a 1GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 1GB ROM, a MicroSD slot, with a screen size in the range of 3.7-inch to 4.1-inch. It is also said to feature a long touchpad in the center in addition to all the standard buttons found on a PlayStation controller.
The PlayStation Phone will surely give Android sales a huge boost over the rival platforms, such as Windows Phone 7 (which is releasing soon with Xbox LIVE support) and Apple’s iOS. What do you think of the possibility? Would you be likely to use the PlayStation Phone if it was to come out? Let us know in the comments below!
