When The Twilight Zone hit prime time in 1959, Rod

Serling’s TV show landed like a mind-comet vibrating with conundrums that would have triggered several million “WTF?” moments at the end of each episode — if people said “WTF” back then.

The first season of the sci-fi series whose eerie theme song has become synonymous with weird phenomena gets reissued on Blu-ray this week. Trafficking in parallel realities, time travel, ESP and existential angst, The Twilight Zone: Season 1 Blu-ray box set powers through 36 mind-bending episodes remastered for high-def viewing.

Image Entertainment ’s five-disc collection (suggested retail $100) includes 19 new audio commentaries, 34 music scores, 18 radio dramas, new and archival interviews, the original unaired pilot version of “Where Is Everybody?” and Serling’s network pitch and audio college lectures.

For your chance to win a free copy of the Blu-ray package, comment below on your favorite Twilight Zone moment, either from show episodes or surreal experiences drawn from your own life. In addition to The Twilight Zone: Season 1, the winner also receive Gremlin and Jason Foster action figures (pictured above). One runner-up will receive a Kanamit bobble head. Deadline for entry is 12:01 a.m. Pacific, Sept. 21, 2010. Randomly selected winners will be notified by e-mail.
