The Chronic Dev Team has decided to delay the release of GreenP0ison, which should have been released today at 10/10/10 at 10:10:10 AM due to the release of GeoHot’s jailbreak method, LimeRa1n. The folks over at the Chronic Dev Team express annoyance at GeoHot’s antics of scooping into the jailbreak scene and releasing his jailbreak right before the announced time of the SHAtter jailbreak. In order to help preserve steady jailbreak capabilities, the team decided to delay their release so they can incorporate GeoHot’s exploit instead of releasing two exploits at the same time allowing Apple to patch both. Many people were “disappointed” by this decision. This is actually in the best interest of the jailbreak community though because this means that the SHAtter exploit will work on later releases of the iOS firmware.

When asked about when the new ETA of the jailbreak would be, the team could only respond with “as soon as possible” and they did not provide anything set in stone.

The team expressed their annoyance openly as well, claiming that they have attempted to work with GeoHot and he is impossible to cooperate with:

Thanks to the irresponsible antics of geohot, we will have to delay the release of greenpois0n (new ETA = as soon as possible), so that we have time to clean up his little mess and integrate the exploit he uses in limera1n into greenpois0n. This way, we can save SHAtter for future devices that may still be vulnerable to it.

We know that this is not what some people want to hear, but due to geohot needing to feed his ego (as usual) and revealing his limera1n exploit, we do not have any other responsible options.

Many people in the jailbreak community are angry with the actions GeoHot has taken what do you think of the whole ordeal? Others are just happy they can finally jailbreak their previously updated iDevices and could care less about the rest at the moment. Are you in that boat? Let us know in the comments below!
