Apple is all set to release iOS 4.3.1 for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV. Apparently its in testing phase and will be released in the next 1-2 weeks. Folks over at BGR managed to get access to the unreleased iOS 4.3.1 firmware, according to sources one of the Apple Engineer installed an unreleased iOS 4.3.1 build on BGR’s Jonathan S. Geller’s iPhone. They have posted an image of it as well. We cannot confirm whether this screenshot and news posted by them is authentic enough or not, but its floating all over the Internet right now. Most probably they will be fixing the exploit found by Charlie Miller. If you are unaware, Miller was able to hack iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.1 by finding a vulnerability in mobile version of Safari web browser. He did this during Pwn2Own 2011 contest. Reportedly, iOS 4.3.1 will simply be addressing bug fixes, with substantial improvement in battery life and should be available in the next 1-2 weeks, as confirmed earlier. Here is the full change log: iOS 4.3.1 Change Log (Unofficial): Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original) Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM file system Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites Fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recognizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2 Fixed iPad 2 jailbreak vulnerability. Apple also rolled out iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1) for Apple TV2 yesterday, so we can assume that this update will be rolled out for other devices as well by this weekend. We will update you as we get more information on it. Stay tuned for more on this topic by following us on our new Facebook page, Twitter, and/or subscribing to our RSS feed. Authors:
