Disney's new Wii game Epic Mickey highlights the darker side of Disney's iconic mouse. In the game, Mickey must deal with the consequences of a terrible mistake after he accidentally ravages an entire world, turning it into a wasteland.

Solid early reviews make Epic Mickey, released Tuesday, seem like a great move for Disney. We're all in favor of taking childhood characters and stripping away their innocence, especially when it makes a good videogame.

With that in mind, Game|Life's crew of writers came up with some other dark ideas involving Disney characters, then asked talented illustrator David Ganjamie to bring them to life. Here's what we'd like to see next.

No longer satisfied with the security of his vault, Scrooge McDuck relocates his fortune to an underwater hideaway: Quackture. Decades pass with no word from him. Your character stumbles upon a secret entrance to Quackture while migrating south for the winter, a staggering coincidence that will in no way trigger a contrived revenge plot. You'll explore the decaying golden city in search of Scrooge's Number One Dime, fight heavily armored Big Mallards and choose whether to rescue Little Webbies or harvest them for their pink ribbons.
