you already know – by default, you can’t switch the iPhone Springboard to landscape mode. The iPhone is designed to be held in portrait mode, at least when you’re navigating between pages on the Springboard. But this has been one of the most requested feature considering the stock apps like Mail support the landscape orientation.

Apple doesn’t want you to turn your Springboard horizontally because that would require an icon layout adjustment, just like on the iPad. Besides, the iPhone has a much smaller screen and layout adjustment would turn out to be a huge problem to deal with.

As usual, the developers in the jailbreak community have come up with an alternative solutions to Apple’s restrictions, there’s a new hack available in Cydia called SBRotator, this tweak brings landscape homescreens to the iPhone in addition to a feature that makes all apps work in landscape. The tweak is fully customizable so you can arrange your homescreen apps anyway you like and is fully compatible with Apple’s latest iOS devices.
