There are no documented changes, but as word spreads and developers dig inside, we’ll be sure to share the new features in this release. There are rumors that the new Beta has a slight performance increase, of course nothing technical has been reported. There has also been some discussion about this Beta having some new additional SMS tones to choose from on your iPhones.
Additional features:
- iPad: Enable/Disable alert sounds for New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, Lock Sounds, Keyboard Clicks
- Minor graphical changes
We’ve heard that Apple has removed the AirPlay feature from various spots in this build. This may be a temporary removal, and we could see it return in the final builds. Apple released the first Beta of iOS 4.2 on September 15th, and Beta 2 was released late last month on September 29th. Final version of iOS 4.2 is expected to be released in November this year.
As usual, if you aren’t a developer and you want to keep your jailbreak / unlock, DO NOT use this firmware. Keep in mind to backup your SHSH blobs. Don’t forget to stay tuned for more tech news and info regarding your iDevices by following us on Twitterand/or subscribing to our RSS feed.
