respected member of the iPhone Dev Team, MuscleNerd, has confirmed that the long awaited unlock for iPhone 3GS & 3G (all basebands) on iOS 4.2.1 will be released this Sunday, December 28th with a new Ultrasn0w update! This UltraSn0w update will also unlock baseband 05.14.01 that came with iOS 4.1.

Good progress today…everything is on track for updated ultrasn0w by Sunday/Funday at the latest (longer for iPhone4!)

This, indeed, is a great news for all those who have updated to iOS 4.2.1 and waiting for an unlock solution. iOS 4.2.1 has already been jailbroken with RedSn0w 0.9.6b4 and now the jailbreak community is eagerly waiting for the UltraSn0w update.

iPhone 4 unlockers though will have to wait a bit longer before they can use their device on any carrier they like. More updates as they come We’ll keep you posted as soon as UltraSn0w unlock is out!
