PwnageTool 4.1 for the iPhone 4 jailbreak on iOS 4.1 and Apple TV 2G is releasing this Sunday. The Dev Team member MuscleNerd has confirmed that an updated version of PwnageTool for Mac is slated for release this Sunday.
As per MuscleNerd’s Tweet:
For AppleTV 2G users, the goal is for PwnageTool to cover you by Funday/Sunday (but still very limited app capability).
This specific upcoming version of PwnageTool will be based on GeoHot’s LimeRa1n bootrom exploit. It allows you to jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 4.1 with a custom firmware that won’t change your iPhone’s baseband. This will consequently allow you to use UltraSn0w to unlock your iPhone and use it with a carrier of your choice. The developer ih8sn0w previously confirmed that Sn0wbreeze 2.1 (similar to PwnageTool for Windows) will be pushed out a few days afterPwnageTool is released. Keeping that in mind, the next version of Sn0wbreeze should come some time after this Sunday.
In the mean time if you still haven’t jailbroken and don’t need to rely on an unlock to be able to use your iPhone, check out our guides on:
