President Obama put up a big fight to keep his Backberry — and won — but apparently he

hasn’t found it necessary to acquire an iPad.

The most powerful man in the world does, arguably, have superior options.

“I have an iReggie, who has my books, my newspapers, my music all in one place,” the president tells the New York Times‘ Peter Baker for a profile in the newspaper’s Sunday magazine.

The reference is to Reggie Love, Obama’s long-time “body man” — a sort of personal assistant who probably spends about as much with the president as anyone. West Wing fans will recall President Bartlett’s body man was Charlie Young.

Obama’s first drama as president was his campaign to keep his beloved Blackberry. Shortly after he was elected the Secret Service said they wouldn’t allow it. Shortly after he was sworn in Obama got his way. He carries a Blackberry 8830 modified by the National Security Agency.

Oh — how many people have that coveted e-mail address? Fifteen, according to the Times.
