SAN DIEGO — In 1966, the classic Batman series hit television screens and thrilled a generation of children and adults. With its kitschy dialogue, rubber bombs and costumed characters, it turned Bruce Wayne (played by Adam West) into a bat-powered TV hero, along with his sidekick Robin (played by Burt Ward).

So why does Batman Classic endure? We invited original caped crusader West to the Wired Cafe at Comic-Con International and asked him about filming the series, his favorite bat-tastic episode and how long he spent holding that bomb on the Santa Monica pier.
