Apple’s iOS App Store, which is home to over 500,000 applications is currently down according to many tips we are receiving from our readers. Reports of the first outage came in shortly after 2:00 PM Eastern time. Some users are reporting that the store is accessible and app pages can be opened but apps cannot be installed on any of the iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, or iPod Touch units). It appears that app updates are not being downloaded either although they appear to be available under the Updates tab. We also confirmed these issues on several iOS devices. Strangely enough, there are other users who are reporting that their installations are working but doing so sporadically while others are not able to install any apps at all.
