With the recent release of  iOS 4.2 GM, @Notcom, the dev behind TinyUmbrella has released an updated for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. And, now is the best time to save SHSH blobs for iOS 4.1 so that you may downgrade to iOS 4.1 and jailbreak your iPhone and iPod Touch if you wish to. In this guide you’ll learn how to save SHSH blobs of iOS 4.1 for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, 2G with a single click using TinyUmbrella. You can download Tinyumbrella 4.1.12 from the link below.

TinyUmbrella let you save SHSH blobs (necessary for restoring older firmware) for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. More details on TinyUmbrella can be found here. @Notcom recently updated the utility and introduced a new UI with version 4.1.8 and lots of new features.

• Save All SHSHs – Click on ‘Show All SHSHs’ and the Save SHSH button changes to Save All SHSHs
• Exit Recovery – Right Click on a recovery device and ‘Exit Recovery’
• Change device name – Double click on a Known Device to change its name.

Preferences:

When connecting a device, prefer my custom device name over the name set on the device – This preference will use the name(s) you set over the name found on the device. Useful for folks with many friends that have phones named ‘iphone’

For those who don’t know, TinyUmbrella lets you save SHSH blobs for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV which are required to be able to downgrade device firmware to an older version. Using TinyUmbrella, you can update iPhone 4 to iOS 4.1 without updating baseband.

NOTE:

• It preserves baseband of iPhone 4 ONLY. iPhone 3GS and 3G users can only preserve baseband with PwnageTool/Sn0wBreeze.
• Developer @notcom tweeted about Mac users to turn off port 80 for websharing when running TinyUmbrella TSS Server.
