It has become possible with the new internet service called FilmOn,which allows you to watch HD quality television shows from channels like ABC, BBC, CBS, CNN, Fox, ITV, NBC, Sky News, and many more right from the comfort of your iPad. The quality is surprisingly very good for a free service with little to no lag during play.

One of the best things about FilmOn is that it doesn’t require Apple’s approval for any native app. Instead you can browse all the channels provided by the service by navigating their site FilmOn.com via the Safari browser. It allows you to see the TV schedule, pause the live show, search the TV guide and so on. The TV networks who own these networks are obviously not happy about FilmOn‘s free service and they have filed lawsuits against the company. Aki David, the man behind the service is confident and “believes that he is legally operating within existing US copyright law and plans to spend heavily to win his legal battle with the networks.” FilmOn will continue to work, at least for the time being.
