Mozy Remote Backup. Free.Automatic.Secure.

The hacker pod2g, who recently found the

SHAtter exploit for jailbreaking iOS 4.1 for all iDevices has quit the Chronic Dev Team and will be working independently. He also confirmed that he had given his discovered SHAtter exploit to Chronic Dev Team and iPhone Dev Team and he will not be working on the jailbreak for iOS 4.1/ iOS 4.2.

The development of GreenPois0n and SHAtter jailbreak is still in same progress and there is no delay in the jailbreak release. Pod2g clearly mentioned that he is an exploit maker and not a jailbreak tool developer. He had worked on 3 exploits including 24Kpwn and SHAtter. Pod2g had also earlier tested greenPois0n and SHAtter jailbreak exploit on iPhone 4 successfully. Here is what pod2g exactly tweeted.

Those who don’t know, Greenpois0n is based on SHAtter , which is a low level bootrom exploit unlike userland exploit JailbreakMe, that can’t be fixed by Apple without a new hardware release of iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and the iPod touches. Just firmware update will not going to patch the bootrom exploit. The complete makeover of the Greenpois0n portal also hints towards the possible jailbreak release in few days. But, no ETA has been cited by hackers apart from confirming that all jailbreaks on iOS 4.1 need 2 exploits, a tethered exploit and an untethered exploit.
