The Chronic Dev-Team has released GreenPois0n jailbreak tool to the masses. Greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad is now available for download. You can download Greenpois0n jailbreak from the link at the bottom. At the moment it’s Windows only, although they have a Mac button on the site – it just doesn’t do anything right now.

Chronic Dev-Team has successfully implemented GeoHot’s exploit into Greenpois0n in order to preserve SHAtter exploit. Greenpois0n loaded with GeoHot’s exploit and Comex’s userland jailbreak can now jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G and iPad running iOS 4.1. This uses the exploit from Geohot, thus saving SHAtter for a later date. Major win for the entire community!

Initially, this will be a Windows-only release. This is due to some technical complications that we soon hope to correct. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks to geohot for the bootrom USB exploit. We have opted to use that instead of SHAtter for the sake of exploit presevation.

This release of GreenPois0n supports:

• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3G S
• iPod touch (4th Generation)
• iPod touch (3rd Generation)
• iPad

The next update will contain support for:

• Apple TV (2nd Generation)
• iPod touch (2nd Generation)

Important:

• GreenPois0n will hacktivate iPhone 4 iOS 4.1.
• Once Apple pushes a new firmware update, GreenPois0n will become a tethered jailbreak. [Source]
• Save SHSH blobs for iOS 4.1 Now so that you may enjoy untethered jailbreak even after a new firmware is out.
• Greenpois0n is a jailbreak tool NOT an unlock for iPhone 4. If you depend on unlock, better wait for PwnageTool which will be out soon after Greepois0n [RECOMMENDED] or use Tinyumbrella to update to iOS 4.1 while preserving baseband. • This will only work on the iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch 4G. It does /not/ support any older devices as they do not contain the A4 chip that contains the exploit.
