One of new things showed off at today’s Back to the Mac event at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, CA, was iLife ’11, the latest version of Apple’s consumer software suite. While there was nothing new added to the package, all the standards were upgraded, and it looks like a few of them are quite a bit more social now thanks to some

deep Facebook integration.

Previously, the iPhoto software was able to publish your images as Facebook albums, and keep them in sync. But the feature is much more robust now, and more easily allows you to tag your Facebook friends in images. Also new is the ability to post a single image to your Wall with a comment. And you can see Facebook Wall comments as they come in right within iLife. You can also now set your Facebook profile picture within iPhoto.

Also, in iMovie ’11, you now have the ability to upload directly to Facebook for the first time. Other social video sites were added as well, such as Vimeo and even CNN iReport.

It looks like Apple and Facebook have worked out (at least some of) their differences. Now, where’s the Ping/Connect integration?
