Using this tweak is an easier alternative to the previously released method of activating HDR photos and GameCenter on the iPhone 3G and 3GS. You need to be jailbroken to do this though so make sure you are running a jailbroken version of iOS 4.1 – if you aren’t, check out our guide on how to jailbreak iPhone 3G/3GS using RedSn0w 0.9.6b1 (Mac Only) or Sn0wbreeze 2.0.2. Don’t risk losing your jailbreak though just to update, the GreenPoison release is right around the corner and the Dev Team is already testing the SHAtter tool as well.
How to install GameCenter, HDR on Jailbroken iOS 4.1 iPhone 3G/3GS:
Step 1:
Jailbreak your iPhone 3G and/or iPhone 3GS using RedSn0w 0.9.6b1 (Mac Only) or Sn0wbreeze 2.0.1
Step 2:
Start ‘Cydia’ on your jailbroken iPhone 3G(S) iOS 4.0.1 springboard.
Step 3:
Select ‘Manage’ tab at the bottom of your iPhone screen and then select ‘Sources’.
Step 4:
Select ‘Edit’ and then select ‘Add’. Now enter a URL source. Type ‘repo.modmyi.com’ and select on ‘Add Source’. Once Cydia has added the source click on ‘Return to Cydia’ button.
Step 5:
Once the installation is completed. Search for ‘HDR/GameCenter Enabler’ in Cydia and install it. This package has three things to enable HDR, GameCenter or both. Don’t use HDR and the GameCenter enabler, because it won’t work. Use the third enabler HDR/GameCenter Enabler for both.
Step 6:
Reboot your iPhone. You can now enjoy GameCenter and HDR photos on your iPhone 3G / iPhone 3GS.
