According to ElectricPig, a British technology blog, Apple’s PR department is trying to get UK press to attend the event on June 6th in San Francisco, California. The reports have once again kicked off rumors that Apple will be releasing its next iPhone at the conference. The iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4 were all announced during the keynote, but it has been largely held that the company will just be focusing on software this year. As per rumors in the tech world, Apple will not be announcing an iPhone 4S / 5 until later this year, with perhaps an iOS announcement coming at WWDC 2011, which runs from June 6th to June 10th. According to ElectricPig, Apple’s UK PR department has been trying to round up UK-based journalists in an attempt to convince them to attend the company’s event. The following was mentioned on ElectricPig: A source tells us that Apple’s UK iPhone PR team is approaching journalists from major publications to fly out to the event in San Francisco next month. The obvious conclusion would be that Apple is announcing a new iPhone. Or rather, an updated model. The iPhone 4S is slated as a stop-gap before the appearance of a true, ‘&%!*, they’ve done it again!’ game-changer next year. What do you think, is Apple going to show off iOS 5  or the next-gen iPhone 4S/5? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
