Spotify To Launch In The U.S Next Week
The popular European streaming music service Spotify could launch in the United States as soon as next week according to AllThingsD’s Peter Kafka. It was announced earlier this week that Spotify would be taking its talent to the U.S but the company seemed to give no indication of when the launch might occur. According to AllThingsD, the service is set to launch next week and their track record has been very accurate in the past. Kafka reaffirms that Spotify has deals signed with three of the four major U.S record labels already and a deal with Warner Music Group is close enough to being signed that it should be completed ahead o a launch next week. Much like Microsoft’s Zune service, Rhapsosody, or Grooveshark, Spotify allows users to stream music on demand, create playlists, and more. The service uses a freemium model that permits ad-supported content to be streamed to desktop computers for free with an offering of mobile streaming, playlist sharing, and no ads for paid subscribers. Spotify has not yet revealed any pricing for the U.S market either but with time, that will be revealed as well. Read More Authors:
