Children, teens, and anyone else whose parents pay for Android phones, you may need to take note of the new parental control app in the store. Mom and dad might be keeping an eye on you and they may know when you are lying or talking about things that they deem are inappropriate. A new app for Android phones called Mobile Nanny has surfaced, that will alert parents to any inappropriate use of your cellphone.

The app has the ability to send entire text messages to an online account and can patrol those messages for specific keywords. If the keywords are noticed by the app, the parent is alerted and the grounding begins. They will also be able to tell if you are lying to your parents about being home and you are really down the street with your buddy. The app already has GPS tracking and can be set to tell parents where the phone is every 15 minutes or on a different time schedule that can be customized. The app also monitors calls and tracks websites visited by the user. The app costs about $50 per year, including free updates but may be worth it for those concerned parents. Apple, is also working on a similar “anti-sexting” app for the iPhone.

What do you think of the app? Let us know in the comments below!
