To

celebrate having America’s largest 4G network (which is what they are claiming as of now), T-Mobile has released their myTouch 4G handset. While the myTouch 4G isn’t T-Mobile’s first 4G phone (the G2 gets that credit) it is their first 4G phone to support video chat via QIK. That apparently may or may not matter to you, as one of the biggest complaints we’ve heard about the G2 is the lack of a front-facing camera. The myTouch 4G is available for $199 with a two year contract, or $449 if you want to buy it outright.

The phone is available to everyone on T-Mobile’s website for $199 after a mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract, new or extended. The device can also be found at your local T-Mobile retail store as well.

If you aren’t fond of the contractual ball and chain, the myTouch 4G will set you back around $450 purchased standalone, without the contract. Considering the phone’s feature set (4G – in reality HSPA+, front facing camera, 720P video capture), this is a pretty competitive off-contract price. T-Mobile has also snuck in a fourth color option for the myTouch 4G. So if you found yourself on the fence about the MT4G for a lack of purple, you’re in luck. The white version looks pretty nice too, not to mention you can get accessories.
