Video Shows Football Stadium Switcheroo at Warp Speed

New Meadowlands Stadium has quickly become of the NFL’s architectural highlights, and as one time-lapse video shows, it takes an army of groundskeepers to keep it that way.

To help foot its $1.6 billion price tag, NMS actually hosts two primary tenants: the New

York Giants and the New York Jets. That means whenever one team is playing its home games, the “presence” of the other team has to be essentially nil.

To do that, hundreds of grounds crew work through the work, replacing logos on the field as well as any identifiable markers in around New Meadowlands Stadium. Usually, more than 350 workers have about a week to do it, since the Giants and Jets often switch off weeks they’re playing at home.

But facilities workers only had 24 hours to do the switcheroo last week, since the Giants opened on Sunday afternoon against the Carolina Panthers and the Jets were scheduled for Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. That meant workers slogged through the night to get the job done. What you get to enjoy, from all that effort, is this amazing time-lapse video.

Sure gives a new meaning to the hurry-up offense.
