The folks over at XDA, particularly XDA member Cotulla, are finally planning to release Windows Phone 7 for the HD2, according to his Twitter page. This means that the WP7 OS arrival for the HD2 is imminent and should be expected soon. However, Cotulla did mention something pretty important in his Tweet regarding the verification system that Microsoft has put in place. The device will not have access to Live due to a license check, making the device limited to what it can and cannot do. Currently live ties up all the online capabilities of the device, without access to it, you will get no access to the Zune Marketplace, Bing Maps, and a lot more.

It isn’t exactly the first time that a manufacturer has put locks to try and keep developers, enthusiasts, and hackets our of their intellectual property, but usually every time someone finds a way to trick, disable, or bypass the system somehow. When the port does become available to the public, be patient at it will surely come to pass. In the meantime, try and take the OS for a spinand see if you like it once it is released.

But new “Windows Phone Genuine” doesn’t allow to use any Windows Live services :-( So it’s mostly “Demo” of WP7. No bypass ways are known
