French gadget enthusiast blog Nowhereelse reportedly received a copy of an invitation to a press event early next month that seemed to be very mysterious. The event as the invitation states is supposedly “the most awaited event of the past 10 years.” While the authenticity of the invitation isn’t confirmed, the implication is clear: Sony Ericcson will supposedly unveil its PlayStation Phone on December 9th. Although there hasn’t been specific mention of the PS Phone is made on the invite, the standard PlayStation icons accompanied by a matching phone icon makes it pretty clear.

Alleged images of the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone were revealed last month and are believed to be authentic. It is reasonable to believe an announcement might not be far behind. With holiday shopping kicking into high gear this week, a December 9th announcement of this magnitude would be a bizarre move but this is Sony Ericsson so anything is possible.
