One of the big issues that keeps knocking Windows Phone 7 down has been the shortage of applications in the Marketplace when being compared to Apple’s App Store or the Android Marketplace. As mentioned several times before, Microsoft is doing everything in their power to make developers successful on Windows Phone 7. Conferences, familiar programming languages, financial guarantees, free developer tools, free e-books, training, and contents have all been used to try and encourage developers to make the best apps available on the platform.

Microsoft is now going above and beyond to promote the applications that developers have already brought to the Marketplace in anticipation of the Holiday season. Bing Visual Search was mentioned previously for Windows Phone 7 Apps, which makes it quick and easy to find software for your phone from any computer. An additional push is now being made in the Xbox dashboard on the Xbox 360 console, utilizing an established customer base to expand the popularity of the platform. Microsoft is also currently featuring specific apps within the Marketplace and on Windowsphone.com.

There is one thing that is certain, Microsoft is pulling out all the stops to establish Windows Phone 7 as one of the premier smartphone platforms on the market. What do you think of Windows Phone 7? Are you planning on hopping the bandwagon? Have you already done so? Let us know in the comments below!
