Apple today posted a new support document acknowledging the daylight saving time bug being experienced by iPhone and iPod touch users on iOS 4.1 in a number of countries.

Apple has suggested a temporary workaround to address it. In the support document, Apple describes the symptoms as follows:

In some regions, shortly before or after the daylight saving time (DST) change, repeating alarms created in the Clock app may work incorrectly

Apple has provided the following workaround to resolve the issue, which incidentally was suggested by some of our readers (thanks everyone):

To resolve this behavior for existing alarms, set the repeat interval to Never. You will need to reset these alarms for each day you need them.

According to the support document, you need to set the alarm manually for the next few days. After November 7th, once the DST changes in US and Canada have taken effect, you will be able to set your alarms to repeat again. Apple has already confirmed that this issue will be fixed in iOS 4.2. iOS 4.2 is expected to be released very soon as Apple has already seeded the golden master version of iOS 4.2 to developers.

Please let us know if the workaround resolves the issue for you in the comments below. And, as always, stay tuned to us for more news and info. by following us on Twitter and/or subscribing to our RSS feeds.
