A Chinese publication, China Times is now reporting that as of this morning, they have production details regarding Apple’s fifth generation iPhone. According to the Chinese translation, the new handset is in a “trial production” and will go into full production very soon, in the third quarter of this year. For those of you who have followed Apple’s release schedules for the previous four generations of the iPhone, this should not come as any surprise. More details in the article confirm other rumors we have heard about for the iPhone 5. China Times states that we will be seeing a larger screen, supposedly to fight off the Android competition with larger screen sizes. Other rumors restated in the article include the inclusion of NFC technology, which the rumor mill has been flip-flopping on as well as an antenna redesign that is supposed to alleviate the well-documented issues with the antenna design of the iPhone 4. They also mentioned the A5 processor, which would be surprising not to see in the iPhone. The report also mentioned a new scratch-resistant metal chassis, to no major surprise again as this was reported earlier. If the report of any indication of what is to come, then the new iPhone 5 will feature much of the established rumors. It is expected that Apple will release the iPhone 5, barring production delays in early summer 2011. What do you think about the upcoming iPhone 5?
