Apple Releases iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1 Build 8F202) For Apple TV 2G; Fixes Flickering Bug

Apple has released an iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1 – build 8F202) update for 2nd-gen Apple TV that brings fix to video flickering issue when the set top box is used on televisions that were attempting to convert the Apple TV’s 720p output to 1080i format. It also offers fixes issues with waking from sleep and audio output that was reported by several users after installing Apple TV Software update 4.2 (iOS 4.3) that was released less than two weeks back. Apple TV 2G 4.2.1 iOS Change Log TV compatibility: Addresses issues that may cause the screen to flicker or display incorrect color on some older TVs. Wake from sleep: Addresses an issue where Apple TV may not wake from sleep. Audio: Addresses an issue where audio may not be heard on some TV models after switching from another input. Stability and performance: Apple TV software Update 4.2.1 includes stability and performance fixes for Apple TV. If you haven’t already grabbed it, the Apple TV Software Update (4.2.1) is available now for download directly from the second-generation Apple TV. To update your Apple TV to the current software version follow the steps below: Select Settings -> General using your Apple Remote. Click Update Software. At this time your Apple TV checks to see if an update is available and a download message should appear if an update is available. Click Download and Install to start the download process.
