SAN DIEGO — Matt Smith is Doctor Who’s eleventh Doctor, and at 26, he’s the youngest. Smith brings a certain sincere quirkiness to the part. The Time Lord’s trusted time-traveling companion is Amy Pond, played by the lovely Karen Gillan.

“It’s trippy and psychedelic, and that’s what Doctor Who at its best should be,” says Smith in the Wired.com video above.

For a Time Lord, Smith is extremely down to earth. He and Gillan have been busy at this year’s Comic-Con International, speaking on panels, doing tons of interviews and meeting with fans.
