this week, HTC and Sprint announced that they would be rolling out an update for the Evo 4G to fix some issues. Very shortly after the announcement (not the update itself, which went live shortly after) a rooted version of the said update was released by the developers at the XDA forums. Normally, after an update such as this, you would have to wait for some nice developer to root the update or take advantage of the Unrevoked Forever. Apparently the Android community was ahead of HTC themselves in releasing the OTA update. Many people are thankful for that and a bit of proof for those of you who are skeptical out there can be found below:
As you can see from the firmware version in the picture, it has been updated and everything looks great. For all of you rooted users out there, enjoy what the XDA developers have done for you!
