In order to help very premature babies, scientists have tested an artificial womb on lambs. During 4 weeks, the 8 fetuses grew normally until their 2nd birth. The liquid inside the pocket, called biobag, and the umbilical cord connected to a device providing oxygen and nutrients, recreate the same conditions as in the marternal womb.
