The reputed member of the iPhone Dev Team, MuscleNerd, had confirmed that the long awaited unlock for iPhone 3GS & 3G (all basebands) on iOS 4.2.1 will be released this Sunday, December 28th with a new Ultrasn0w update! This UltraSn0w update will also unlock baseband 05.14.01 that came with iOS 4.1. MuscleNerd confirms that UltraSn0w unlock for iOS 4.2.1 is ready to release.
This is what MuscleNerd has tweeted:
“Finally got ultrasn0w working fully on 4.2.1. Apple inadvertently(!) broke ultrasn0w via aggressive compiler optimization.”
This UltraSn0w update will unlock iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS only, iPhone 4 unlockers though will have to wait a bit longer before they can use their device on any carrier they like.
